Famously real estate–savvy Ellen DeGeneres recently continued one Beverly Hills mansion’s lineage of celebrity owners by buying Adam Levine’s Tudor-style home for $45 million. The sprawling 10,376-square-foot abode previously belonged to Will & Grace cocreator Max Mutchnick and his husband, entertainment attorney Erik Hyman, before Levine and his wife, Behati Prinsloo, bought it for $33.9 million in an off-market deal just over a year ago. The former The Voice star and model reportedly sank $7 million into upgrading the home. (Before that, tennis champion Pete Sampras called the elegant mansion home; he sold it to Mutchnick and Hyman for just under $17 million in 2008.) The five-bedroom, 12-bathroom property is quite a sight to behold, and seems like the perfect addition to DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi’s growing collection of pricey holdings.
Situated behind a high security wall on slightly raised land, the home has three floors with thoughtfully updated details throughout, including crown molding in many of the common living areas on the first floor. The front door opens onto a double-height entrance hall with a cozy sitting area just across the hallway, with an entire wall of floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open out onto the lush green backyard. A stately living room with a TV-topped marble fireplace sits just off to one side of the main entrance hall, while a spacious formal dining room area is located toward the rear of the home. A sun-drenched family room is located between the aforementioned sitting area and the main kitchen. There’s also a second, all-steel kitchen outfitted with professional-grade appliances.
