It’s undeniable: Banana Republic is having a moment. The San Francisco–based retailer has seen viral success with its recent collections focused on high-quality materials in timeless silhouettes. Its expansion into the home space, launched today, follows the same beat, riding the wave of Banana Republic’s resurgence with a foray into homeware.
The BR home collection includes new categories such as rugs, bedding, and decor inspired by voyages far and wide. Crafted from premium fabrics and created by skilled artisans, consumers can discover heritage pieces for modern living across three primary themes: origins, textured modern, and classic chic.
According to Sandra Stangl, president and CEO of Banana Republic, customers see their homes as a direct extension of their personal style. “We combined our BR signature design details—such as thoughtful streamlined closures, exaggerated proportions, and textures—to create timeless pieces that will withstand the test of time,” she shares.
Expect something a little more rugged and a little bit cooler than you could expect from a big box retailer. The collection feels like the kind of thing your well-traveled friend might fill their sunlit apartment with—alpaca bouclé throws and cotton striped sheets. It’s more personal than minimalism and more restrained than maximalism. Prices follow suit, ranging from $40 to $7,550 for rugs, bedding, and decor.
Sandra notes that the design process involved global travel and conversations with makers and artisans to create high-quality products with integrity. “We also reached out to artisans in the US and around the world whose techniques, artistry, and use of natural materials we wanted to celebrate,” she explains.
Fans of Banana Republic should note that the expansion is more than a capsule or one-time offering. “We plan to incorporate home products as part of our future seasonal collections,” she shares.
