5 Seconds of Summer’s Calum Hood Buys $2.1 Million Encino Cottage

The musician’s historic pad was built in 1950

Calum Hood of the Australian pop-punk band 5 Seconds of Summer might just be moving out of the Hollywood Hills house he’s called home for the past six years. We don’t know if he’ll be jumping ship from the property he bought off of Poison guitarist Richie Kotzen, but we do know that the 5SOS star recently closed the deal on a $2.1 million cottage in San Fernando Valley’s posh Encino neighborhood.

According to Dirt, the bassist and singer scored a discount on the property (as is the norm for real estate buyers in California these days) having paid $300,000 less than the asking price. The historic abode, which was built in 1950, sits on almost a quarter acre of land and includes 2,550 square feet of living space divided between a main house with three bedrooms and three bathrooms and a one-bedroom, one-bathroom accessory dwelling unit.

The recently upgraded single-story main structure features hardwood floors throughout. An open-concept kitchen and living room spills out onto a zen backyard with a pool, spa, and deck with several lounge chairs, a wooden outdoor table, and accompanying benches. A rich lawn also sits out back, surrounded by a variety of plants, including several palm trees standing in front of a white wall with a large inset Buddha statue. The primary suite, with its retractable glass doors, faces the lawn and has an attached walk-in closet and ensuite bathroom. The home is adorned with several plants including two wooden walls in the dining area dotted with hanging greenery.
